Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane said Tuesday he expects to play in Game 1 of Western Conference First Round against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday (8:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TVA Sports, SN360, CSN-CH, FS-TN).
"That's the plan," Kane said after practice.
Kane was a full participant in practice Monday for the first time since sustaining a broken left collarbone Feb. 24 against the Florida Panthers. He had surgery Feb. 25 and was expected to miss 12 weeks; Game 1 will be seven weeks.
Prior to the injury, Kane led the Blackhawks with 27 goals and 37 assists. His 64 points were tied for the NHL lead through 61 games, and he still finished second on the Blackhawks, two points back of captain Jonathan Toews.
Great to be back for the playoffs. Thank you to all the great fans for the many well wishes over the last seven weeks!
