At the Rink: Flyers at Hurricanes

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Philadelphia Flyers will try to end an ignominious streak Saturday afternoon when they face the Carolina Hurricanes (1 p.m. ET; FS-CR, CSN-PH).

When the Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 on Wednesday, they continued their dominance (10-1-4) against teams currently in position to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The issue is how they perform against teams outside of the playoff picture. The Flyers are 0-6-4 in their past 10 against those teams.

This will be Philadelphia's final road game of the season. Their 10 road wins (10-20-10) is the fourth fewest in the NHL.

"I thought we mismanaged some games late in the games," Philadelphia coach Craig Berube said on Friday. "We lacked goal production for a lot of it."

Ray Emery will start in goal for the Flyers for the first time since March 22, when he made 29 saves in a 5-4 road loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

The Hurricanes have struggled down the stretch, going 4-8-4 since the beginning of March. They lost 6-1 to the Florida Panthers on Thursday.

"We're trying to finish properly, finish hard and play good hockey," Carolina coach Bill Peters said after practice Friday. "I think we owe that to the other teams in the League."

Here are the projected lineups.
