At the Rink: Sharks at Flyers

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers' injury list will be a bit longer Saturday when they play the San Jose Sharks (1 p.m. ET; CSN-CA, CSN-PH).

The Flyers will be without defensemen Mark Streit and Carlo Colaiacovo, who have the flu. They also are missing Luke Schenn because of a lower-body injury and Andrew MacDonald, who sustained a season-ending upper-body injury Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Flyers recalled defensemen Mark Alt and Oliver Lauridsen from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League under emergency conditions Saturday.

Alt will make his NHL debut; he had one goal and six assists in 33 AHL games. Lauridsen will play his first NHL game since the 2012-13 season. He was called up earlier this season but did not get into a game.

The Flyers also recalled forward Jason Akeson. He started the season in the NHL but the Flyers sent him to the AHL after he had no points and seven shots on goal in 12 games. In 46 AHL games he has 20 goals and 42 points.

In addition to the injured defensemen, the Flyers also are missing forward Wayne Simmonds, who sustained a season-ending lower-body injury Wednesday against the Blackhawks.

Steve Mason is expect to start in goal for the Flyers, with Alex Stalock set to start in goal for the Sharks.
