At the Rink: Devils at Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk will start his 200th NHL game when the Wild play the New Jersey Devils at Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday.

"You look at the start of the year and the situation I was in; it's a big milestone, but you don't know when that's going to come," Dubnyk said. "To get that opportunity to get there this year has been good."

Despite ranking 21st among NHL goalies in games played this season (43), Dubnyk is ninth in victories (27) and top-three in goals-against average (2.11, second) and save percentage (.927, third). His six shutouts, five of which have come since being acquired by the Wild on Jan. 14, are fourth-best.

Including his final game with the Arizona Coyotes, Dubnyk will also be starting his 26th consecutive game -- the longest such streak since Jonas Hiller started 32 straight for the Anaheim Ducks in 2012.

"Mentally, I'm good. It's been so much fun, it's been a crazy ride and winning games, and the feeling we've had in the dressing room, it gives you that boost of energy," Dubnyk said. "When you can enter every single game feeling like you can win the game, it's easy to grab that energy even if you're feeling not so [well] that day."

Injured forwards Jason Zucker, Ryan Carter and Matt Cooke were all on the ice before the Wild skated Tuesday. Carter and Zucker have each been out since Feb. 9; Zucker with a clavicle injury and Carter with an upper-body ailment. Cooke hasn't played since Feb. 1 with a sports hernia.

Wild coach Mike Yeo said all three are progressing. Carter is closest to returning and Cooke isn't far behind. Each are still a couple of weeks away.

The timetable for Zucker, believed to be three months when the injury occurred, has been accelerated. He will meet with doctors on Wednesday, and if all things check out, he could return in time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, if the Wild qualify. That would be nearly a full month sooner than originally thought.

New Jersey will make no changes up front or on defense after a 5-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Goaltender Cory Schneider will get the start. He is 8-5-0 against Minnesota in his career with a 2.17 GAA and .916 save percentage. He made 24 saves in a 3-1 victory on Nov. 11.

Status update: Salvador and Clowe are with the Devils on the road trip. Neither is expected to play again this season, but general manager Lou Lamoriello praised the professionalism of each and the importance of having them around the team. … Scandella did not skate for the Wild and will likely be out through at least the end of the weekend. He has missed the past four games.

Who's hot: Henrique scored two goals Sunday to take over the Devils scoring lead (35 points) and has seven points in his past 10 games. … Dumba has four goals in his past 11 games and is a plus-13 over that span.
