Youngstown's Connor named USHL top forward

CSS 2015 MIDTERM RANKINGS

Left wing Kyle Connor of the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League, No. 14 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, was named the USHL/CCM forward of the week.

Connor, 18, had three goals and seven points in two victories against the Sioux Falls Stampede last weekend. He had a career-high five points (two goals, three assists) in a 7-3 win Friday and had one goal and one assist in a 6-2 win Saturday.

Connor (6-foot-1, 177 pounds) has 25 goals and USHL-best 61 points in 45 games; he ranks third in the league with 36 assists. He has five goals and four assists during a three-game point streak and has 11 goals and 11 assists in the past 12 games.

He is committed to the University of Michigan for the 2015-16 season.
