Believe it or not, there is something Erie Otters captain Connor McDavid has yet to do in his three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League.

McDavid, No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, is still seeking that elusive hat trick. It's pretty incredible when you consider the 6-foot-1, 195-pound left-shot center has 85 goals and 257 points in 155 career games.

But McDavid has never been overly concerned with goals, so long as his team is winning and that's something Erie has done with regularity in 2014-15.

McDavid had three goals and nine points to lead Erie (39-13-4) to two victories in three games this past week. He nearly scored his first OHL hat trick in an 8-2 victory against the Peterborough Petes on Saturday, but was kept from doing so when slashed from behind on a breakaway late in the third period. He'd finish with two goals and five points.

McDavid also extended his season-high point streak to 21 games, producing 18 goals and 50 points over that stretch.

The Otters, who have qualified for the OHL playoffs, are currently second in the Western Conference.

Boston University freshman Jack Eichel, No. 2 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, will get his first and, possibly, only chance at winning a Beanpot Tournament championship on Monday when his team plays against Northeastern at TD Garden at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The 6-2, 196-pound right-shot center leads the nation with 49 points and a 1.69 points-per game average in 29 games for the Terriers (19-6-5 overall; 13-4-3 Hockey East).

Boston University will be playing in the Beanpot final for the 27th time in the last 32 years. The school has won nearly half (29) of the previous 62 Beanpot tournaments and will enter this year's title game with an all-time record of 86-39. The last time Boston University celebrated a Beanpot title was in 2009 when it scored a 5-2 victory against Northeastern. Northeastern, which has won four Beanpots, has played in the tournament final in each of the past three years.
