Erie Otters captain Connor McDavid, No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, will look to establish a team record for points in consecutive games when the Otters travel to play against the Mississauga Steelheads at Hershey Centre on Monday at 2 p.m. ET.

McDavid had four goals and seven points in three games last week to extend his season-high point streak to 18 games, tying the team mark set by Tim Connolly in 1997-98 and Rob Hisley in 2004-05. McDavid (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) has 15 goals and 41 points during his 18-game streak, which began Nov. 7. McDavid sustained a hand injury on Nov. 11 that kept him out six weeks but he picked up where he left off on Jan. 8 to continue the point streak.

He has 13 multiple-point games during the streak.

The Otters nearly completed an improbable comeback from a four-goal deficit against the Owen Sound Attack on Saturday but dropped a 5-4 decision in overtime. Trailing 4-0, McDavid keyed a four-goal third period with two goals and three points, including the game-tying goal with 1:14 remaining in regulation.

"The way we battled back was unbelievable," McDavid told Goerie.com. "To lose that way really hurts. If we walked away 4-1 [or] 4-2, there's a lot less positives in those games. The way we battled back in the last couple of minutes there was something that we'll remember. There are no games over until it's over."

McDavid has points in 32 of 33 games he has played this season and is at a 2.52 points-per game clip. He has 82 goals and 248 points in 152 career games spanning three seasons with the Otters (37-12-4, 78 points). Erie is second in the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League, six points behind the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Meanwhile, Boston University center Jack Eichel, No. 2 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of North American skaters, had one goal and four points in two games last week. He leads the nation with 47 points and a 1.74 points-per game average in 27 games for the Terriers (19-5-4 overall; 13-3-2 Hockey East). Boston University will open a home series against the University of Notre Dame on Friday.

The Terriers will play against Northeastern in the championship of the Beanpot Tournament at TD Garden in Boston on Feb. 23.

Boston University will be playing in the Beanpot final for the 27th time in the last 32 years. The school has won nearly half (29) of the previous 62 Beanpot tournaments and will enter this year's title game with an all-time record of 86-39.
