Fantasy Spin: Stars add forwards; Myers helps Jets

The Dallas Stars were the second-highest scoring team in the NHL coming into Saturday, and Tyler Seguin was a big part of that. But Seguin and his 29 goals will be sidelined for 3-6 weeks with a knee injury he sustained Friday in a 2-0 victory against the Florida Panthers.

In addition to Seguin, Patrick Eaves (concussion) and Ales Hemsky (lower body) also were injured.

Brett Ritchie (1 percent owned in Yahoo leagues, RW) and Travis Morin (less than 1 percent owned, C) were recalled from Texas of the American Hockey League. Ritchie skated mostly with Vernon Fiddler and Shawn Horcoff, but later skated with Fiddler and Erik Cole. Morin skated with Travis Moen and Jamie Benn. The Stars didn't generate much offense in a 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche; Jason Spezza scored the goal.

Ritchie (14:06 of ice time Saturday) has three points in 11 games with the Stars this season, and Morin (12:08 of ice time) has no points in six games. With Seguin and Hemsky (21 percent owned, RW) on injured reserve, and Eaves (2 percent owned, RW) dealing with a concussion, the call-ups probably will remain in the lineup for a while, so this is a situation worth monitoring.

Goalie Jhonas Enroth (35 percent owned) made his first start for Dallas since being acquired by the Buffalo Sabres in a trade earlier this week. He made 26 saves and didn't look particularly sharp.

Enroth's situation is interesting. He went to a better team, which means he should be in line for more wins, but who knows how much he'll play behind starter Kari Lehtonen.

-- Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tyler Myers (16 percent owned) had two assists, including one on the power play, and two penalty minutes in a 5-4 shootout win against the Detroit Red Wings. That gives him 15 points and 63 penalty minutes. Expect the points to rise, and the plus-minus (currently minus-16) to get better.

-- Senators forward Milan Michalek (4 percent owned, LW, RW) had a season-high three points (two goals, one assist) in a 7-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers. He has three goals in six games and seven goals in 13 games. Michalek has gotten more than 20 minutes of ice time three times this season; two of them have come in the past two games.

-- New York Rangers forward Kevin Hayes scored a shorthanded goal in a 5-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes. He has a goal in three straight games and a point in five straight (two goals, seven assists). Hayes (5 percent owned) is a plus-7 and has 16 penalty minutes. Perhaps most importantly, he has dual eligibility at center and forward.
