Fantasy Spin: How to replace Tyler Seguin

Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin, NHL.com's majority pick for overall fantasy MVP at midseason, will miss 3-6 weeks with a knee injury after being hit by Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov on Friday.

Seguin had 29 goals, 59 points, 22 power-play points and 225 shots on goal through 55 games, but temporary replacements from the waiver wire must now be considered.

Here are some forwards available in Yahoo fantasy leagues who can help until Seguin returns:

Nick Bjugstad, Florida Panthers (owned in 30 percent of Yahoo leagues): A good option for those in smaller leagues, Bjugstad's 19 goals in 53 games this season eclipsed his career high of 16 in 76 games last season. The center has been hot recently with three goals and five points in the past six games, and his 10 power-play points can give owners some confidence.

Mike Hoffman, Ottawa Senators (owned in 18 percent): It's hard to believe Hoffman isn't on more fantasy rosters, but this C/LW eligible rookie should be claimed off waivers. Hoffman had a point in six of the past eight games entering Saturday (three goals, five assists) and despite no presence on the Senators power play, the 25-year-old can provide adequate coverage with a plus-17 rating and 18 goals in 50 games.

Anders Lee, New York Islanders (owned in 12 percent): Tied with Hoffman for second among NHL rookies in goals through 49 games played as of Saturday, Lee is widely available in most Yahoo leagues. The 24-year old is in the midst of three-game scoring streak as of Saturday, playing on the top line with John Tavares, and should be grabbed quickly if he's on the waiver wire in your league.

Eric Fehr, Washington Capitals (owned in 7 percent): Eligible at the same positions as Seguin (C/RW), the former first-round pick of the Capitals is having one of the best seasons of his 10-year career with 16 goals, 24 points and a plus-10 rating through 51 games. Although Fehr has been scoreless in the past four games, he plays on an offensively deep Capitals team and should be taken by owners in leagues with 12-plus teams.
