Fantasy Spin: Daley does it again; Beleskey at 20

Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg (35 percent owned in Yahoo Leagues) has been discussed a lot lately, and rightfully so.

The NHL Rookie of the Month for January scored his 10th goal in a 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. But one of his teammates has been flying under the radar.

Defenseman Trevor Daley (28 percent owned) also scored Thursday and has five goals in his past nine games. He's scored the second-most goals (13) among defenseman this season behind Oliver Ekman-Larsson (15) of the Arizona Coyotes.

Daley had three shots, two hits and four blocks in 22:02 of ice time, including 4:41 shorthanded and 2:01 on the power play, Thursday.

The points are there, although he doesn't offer much in terms of plus-minus (minus-10) and shots (86).

-- Matt Beleskey (35 percent owned, RW,) scored his 20th goal of the season for the Anaheim Ducks in a 5-2 win against the Nashville Predators. He's a plus-11 and has taken 115 shots, if you're in need of a decent scorer who has pretty good peripheral numbers.

Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf was scratched after taking part in warm-ups. The Ducks listed him as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Rene Bourque and Rickard Rakell (two assists) played on the top line with Corey Perry.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne played for the first time since Jan. 13. The Vezina Trophy frontrunner had a rough outing, making 21 saves and allowing four goals in the loss.

-- New York Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck (4 percent owned, RW) isn't exactly a scoring machine, but he scored in a 3-2 shootout win against the Philadelphia Flyers which ended his 19-game drought. He has 12 points and is one of the Islanders' more physical forwards with 216 hits (second in the League behind teammate Matt Martin), 42 penalty minutes and 78 shots on goal.

Defenseman Johnny Boychuk (75 percent owned) was injured in second period after blocking a shot with his knee but returned in the third period.

-- Florida Panthers forward Brandon Pirri, who was written about in this blog Tuesday, scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings. He has a goal in four straight games and in six of his past seven. Chances are, he's still available in your league (1 percent owned, C).

-- St. Louis Blues forward Patrick Berglund (1 percent owned, C) returned after missing three games with an upper-body injury in a 3-0 victory against the Buffalo Sabres. Playing on a line with Dmitrij Jaskin and Ty Rattie, he was scoreless in 10:33 of ice time.

Jaskin (less than 1 percent owned, RW) scored and has a goal in two of his past three games.
