Fantasy Spin: Klingberg, Visnovsky could help on D

Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg had four points in a 5-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. He's available in 87 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Klingberg is tied for 11th among defenseman in points per game (0.69), with P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens and Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators. Klingberg is ahead of Dustin Byfuglien of the Winnipeg Jets (0.66) and Keith Yandle of the Arizona Coyotes (0.65).

For comparison's sake, Subban and Weber are owned in 100 percent of leagues, Yandle in 98 percent and Byfuglien in 94 percent.

Klingberg had two power-play points coming into Saturday before getting three. He played 7:17 of his 22:38 on the power play and likely earned himself some more opportunities. He can help in penalty minutes, with 22 in 35 games.

The rookie didn't make his NHL debut until Nov. 11 and has been an effective fantasy defenseman since.

-- New York Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky missed the past nine games with an upper-body injury and missed 10 earlier in the season, but his value was shown in a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Visnovsky (5 percent owned) scored on the power play, and 3:00 of his 18:14 of ice time were with the man-advantage. He skated on the first power-play unit with four forwards (John Tavares, Anders Lee, Frans Nielsen and Brock Nelson), and scored while with defenseman Johnny Boychuk and Nielsen, Nelson and Tavares.

Visnovsky has four goals and 12 points and is plus-2 with two power-play points in 30 games. He averages 19:56 of ice time, and along with Boychuk and Nick Leddy will be counted on to log a lot of minutes as the Islanders continue their push to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now that he has returned, expect Visnovsky to play more on the power play.

-- Looking for an offensive spark after avoiding back-to-back shutouts by 10 seconds, the New York Rangers changed some of their lines in a 4-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes. Forward Rick Nash, who usually skates with Derrick Brassard and J.T. Miller, scored playing mostly with Derek Stepan and Martin St. Louis.

Chris Kreider scored a goal on a line with Kevin Hayes and Mats Zuccarello. Brassard was with Carl Hagelin and Jesper Fast; the latter two each had an assist on defenseman Dan Boyle's third-period goal.

-- Ottawa Senators forward Mika Zibanejad (10 percent owned, C, RW) played on the top line with Bobby Ryan and Clarke MacArthur in a 7-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes. Zibanejad had a goal and an assist, and has a goal in three straight games and a point in four straight.

-- Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray (5 percent owned), who hadn't played since Nov. 1 after sustaining a knee injury, had an assist in 19:06 of ice time in a 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He did not have any power-play time.
