Penguins' Letang, Hornqvist return vs. Jets

PITTSBURGHPittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang and forward Patric Hornqvist will return to face the Winnipeg Jets at Consol Energy Center on Tuesday.

Letang and Hornqvist each took the ice for pregame warm-ups on Tuesday after participating in morning skate. Penguins coach Mike Johnston said each would be a game-time decision following the skate, with each saying they felt well enough to play.

Hornqvist, whose 13 goals ranks fourth on the team, took part in the Penguins’ practice Monday after missing 11 games because of a lower-body injury. Letang was also listed as a game-time decision for the game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 21, but he did not return for pregame warm-ups because of a concussion sustained against the Philadelphia Flyers the day before.

Letang, who is third on Pittsburgh with 32 points behind Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, will return to his usual defensive pairing alongside Paul Martin. Hornqvist will play right wing next to center Brandon Sutter and left wing Beau Bennett.

Forward David Perron, who Johnston also named a game-time decision, and defenseman Simon Despres, who missed two games with an illness, will also play against Winnipeg.
