Tampa Bay Lightning center Tyler Johnson will not participate in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday at Nationwide Arena because of a lower-body injury.

Johnson, who was drafted by Team Toews on Friday, was picked to be in the Gatorade NHL Skills Relay as a mini net passer. He was not expected to participate in any other events.

It is not known if Johnson will play in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday (5 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

Johnson is eighth in the NHL with 48 points (his 31 assists rank seventh). He did not play Jan. 13 because of an injury but participated in Tampa Bay's final three games prior to the 2015 NHL All-Star Weekend.
