Fantasy Spin: Hutchinson, Perreault producing

Winnipeg Jets goalie Michael Hutchinson (owned in 38 percent of Yahoo leagues) made 38 saves in a 5-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.

Hutchinson and Ondrej Pavelec (65 percent owned) have alternated starts in the past 14 games. After Tuesday, the splits in the past seven for each are as follows: Hutchinson, 5-1-1, .941 save percentage, 2.15 goals-against average; Pavelec, 3-1-3, .897 save percentage, 2.55 GAA.

RECORD: 8-2-2

Picking up a goalie who starts half of his team's games is not usually ideal, but it's clear who has the better numbers -- and it's not even close. With the way Hutchinson is playing, it's only a matter of time before he takes over as the Jets' No. 1 goalie.

Winnipeg is fighting for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and will need wins, which he has delivered (8-2-2). Hutchinson has allowed three goals in two of 13 games, and is leading the NHL with a .944 save percentage and 1.67 GAA.

Jets center Mathieu Perreault (6 percent owned) scored two goals and has an eight-game point streak (five goals, four assists), which is tied for the longest streak since the franchise moved to Winnipeg.

-- After a 4-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, Toronto Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle changed lines for the game Tuesday. It paid off in a 4-0 win against the Dallas Stars.

James van Riemsdyk moved down to the second line, Joffrey Lupul went from the third to the first line, and Daniel Winnik went from the second line to the third line.

Lupul's line with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel had one goal and two assists. Van Riemsdyk had a goal and two assists, and linemates Nazem Kadri and Mike Santorelli each scored a goal. The third line of Winnik, Peter Holland and David Clarkson did not score.

-- Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov made 26 saves in a 5-0 win against the St. Louis Blues. Varlamov (78 percent owned; 5-6-5, .913 save percentage, 3.01 GAA) played for the first time since Dec. 5, had allowed nine goals in his prior two starts, and allowed four goals or more in four of six starts. Coach Patrick Roy said Calvin Pickard (28 percent owned; 6-5-2, .939 save percentage, 2.06 GAA) will start Saturday, but the remainder of the starts following the holiday break is unknown.

-- Boston Bruins rookie forward Craig Cunningham (less than 1 percent owned, LW) skated on the top line with Milan Lucic and David Krejci in a 5-3 win against the Nashville Predators. Cunningham played on the third and fourth lines in his previous four games. He was not on the power-play unit that consisted of Krejci, Lucic, Brad Marchand, Torey Krug and Zdeno Chara.

-- New Jersey Devils forward Mike Cammalleri (41 percent owned, C/LW) returned after missing four games. He was unable to help a struggling offense which has scored five non-shootout goals in its past five games. Cammalleri (25:30 of ice time) played with Scott Gomez and Jaromir Jagr on the top line. Cammalleri had four shot attempts, but none on goal. He has 11 goals on 56 shots (19.6 percent), highest on the Devils for anyone who has taken more than 10 shots.
