Domi scores hat trick in Canada's final WJC tuneup

Forward Max Domi's hat trick led Canada to a 6-0 win against Switzerland at Bell Centre in Montreal on Tuesday in its final exhibition game prior to the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Domi (Arizona Coyotes) scored twice in 13 seconds during the second period and at 8:16 of the third. Forward Anthony Duclair (New York Rangers) assisted on each of Domi's goals.

Connor McDavid (2015 draft eligible) assisted on a goal by Nick Ritchie (Anaheim Ducks) in the third period. Curtis Lazar (Ottawa Senators) was scoreless in his debut Canada captain.

Goalie Zachary Fucale (Montreal Canadiens) got the win.

Forward Brayden Point (Tampa Bay Lightning) opened the scoring at 13:34 of the first period with a power-play goal assisted by defenseman Joshua Morrissey (Winnipeg Jets), who finished with two assists. Canada was 1-for-5 on the man-advantage.

Forward Jake Virtanen (Vancouver Canucks) scored at 16:39 for Canada's third goal of the second period.

Forward Sam Reinhart (Buffalo Sabres) and defenseman Darnell Nurse (Edmonton Oilers) each had one assist.

Goalie Ludovic Waeber allowed six goals on 20 shots for Switzerland, which was unable to convert on five power plays.

Canada opens the tournament against Slovakia at Bell Centre on Friday. Switzerland plays its first game Saturday against the Czech Republic at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
