The Boston Bruins will assign forward David Pastrnak to the Czech National Junior team following the Providence Bruins game on Dec. 20, the team announced Friday.
The move will allow Pastrnak to compete for the Czech Republic in the 2015 World Junior Championship, which begins Dec. 26
The 18-year-old has five goals and 20 points for Providence of the American Hockey League in his first professional season. He has played in five games for Boston, picking up his first NHL point with an assist Dec. 1 against the Anaheim Ducks.
