At the Rink: Devils at Bruins

BOSTON – The New Jersey Devils should have forward Mike Cammalleri back in their lineup Monday against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.

According to Bruins coach Claude Julien, though, Boston will be missing center David Krejci.

Cammalleri missed the past six games with a jaw injury and the Devils went 2-4-0 without him. Prior to the injury, Cammalleri had five goals and two assists in eight games, so he'll be looking to quickly find his offensive form.

"We'll find out in a hurry," Cammalleri said after an optional morning skate. "You know I'm not going to put any expectations on myself [Monday] other than just to try and do what I can to help the club win and ... we'll see what happens in terms of results. And as far as my game, it might take a bit to get back into it but I'll do what I can."

Krejci missed two games before he returned to face the Edmonton Oilers last Thursday. He missed each of the Bruins' practices since then and did not take part in an optional morning skate Monday. His injury is undisclosed and Julien has classified the forward as day-to-day.

But the Bruins might have defenseman Torey Krug back. Krug had his finger broken by a slash from Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise on Oct. 28. He had surgery and recently returned to practicing with his teammates. Julien said Krug, who has two goals and four assists in 11 games this season, would be a game-time decision.

The Bruins need a defenseman to fill a hole in their lineup from the last game because David Warsofsky sustained a groin strain and is out two to four weeks. If Krug can't play, the Bruins' other option is Matt Bartkowski, who has been a healthy scratch four straight games.

"We just know he's good enough when he's on top of his game to be a good player for us," Julien said about Bartkowski. "So he dug himself a hole and now he's got to dig himself out. It starts in practice."

Krug, one of Boston's top power-play producers, might want to get back into the lineup against the Devils because New Jersey's penalty kill has struggled. The Devils have allowed six power-play goals in the past four games. New Jersey worked on its penalty kill in practice Sunday.

"We know our game plans and X's and O's work. We have a long history of that here," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "So it's about getting some confidence. I thought it started to come and then we made a few mistakes the other night and they ended up in our net. I think it's headed in the right direction. We've got to piece together two or three good games here in a row and really start feeling good about ourselves."

Status report: Havlat stayed on the ice much longer than the rest of his teammates and said he was unavailable to play. He said he could return Tuesday at home against the Minnesota Wild. ... Schneider is scheduled to add to his career high by making a 15th straight start.

Who's hot: Ryder, who has four goals in 14 games this season, has 14 goals in 36 career games against Boston. He played for the Bruins for three seasons (2008-2011). ... Marchand has four goals and seven points in his past four games.
