At the Rink: Blues at Ducks

The St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks did not have morning skates prior to their 8 p.m. ET game Sunday at Honda Center.

The Blues will be without center Paul Stastny, who reportedly had his arm in a sling after he was injured early in the first period of a 6-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.

St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock said that Stastny, who signed with the Blues as a free agent in the offseason, is day-to-day. Magnus Paajarvi will be inserted in the lineup in Stastny's place, though it's unclear how the lines will change.

Blues goalie Jake Allen started against Arizona and he stopped 24 of 25 shots in his season debut. Brian Elliott is expected back in net against the Ducks.

Anaheim is coming off a 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild in its home opener Friday. The Ducks, who had 26 comeback wins last season, have rallied twice to win this season, including from 1-0 down against the Wild in their first game against a Western Conference team.

Anaheim is going for its eighth straight home win in the series. The Ducks are 6-0-1 against the Blues in the past seven games between the teams.

St. Louis recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm, who is expected to play.

Status report: Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau indicated that Rakell might go back in the lineup after Wagner made his NHL debut Friday, but Wagner reportedly skated with Thompson and Etem in practice Saturday. Ducks goalie John Gibson, who was sent to Norfolk of the American Hockey League on Wednesday, was expected to return to Anaheim on Sunday, but the recall might not be announced until later.

Who's hot: Schwartz is coming off his first career hat trick and a career-high four-point game. Tarasenko had career-highs in assists (three) and shots (seven) against the Coyotes. … Andersen has won four straight starts for the Ducks, two shy of his career-high six-game winning streak, and is 24-5-0 in his career. Fowler extended his point streak to three games.
