Briere discusses dramatic 300th goal on NHL Live

Colorado Avalanche forward Daniel Briere joined NHL Live via Arena Cam to reflect on his game-winning with 0.4 seconds left that gave the Avalanche a 2-1 victory against the Boston Bruins on Monday at TD Garden.

The win was Colorado's first after two straight losses to start the season. The Avalanche were shut out in each of those defeats and saw their scoreless streak run to 143:27 before Jamie McGinn's second-period goal.

"It's a been a rough start for us the first two games of the season, so to come in here, 1:00 game, 11 for us in Mountain Time, it wasn't easy to get going but we got it done," Briere said. "It's a good feeling to get back on track."

Briere's dramatics also led to career goal No. 300.

"It's one of those things that I'm probably going to appreciate more after my career is over," Briere said of the milestone. "Right now I think the big thrill is getting the victory. It's been, like I said, a rough start for us the first two games so to find a way to win it, I know it was a little late in the game but it doesn't matter how. We'll take it. We were in need of a victory."
