Players happy long break is over
The San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks will play tonight's game (10 p.m. ET, NHLN-CA) after long layoffs.

Anaheim has not played since its participation in the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere games last weekend, while San Jose has not played since its season opener last Saturday.

"This is something not normal, for sure," Ducks forward Teemu Selanne said. "Everybody's anxious to get going."

"I'm sure our players are tired of practicing," added Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "You read the comments out of San Jose -- they’re tired of practicing … our players are tired of skating, tired of doing the drills, tired of working on defensive-zone coverage with one another."

Quote of the Day

It's pretty crazy, but believe me when I say we didn't draft these players with the mindset we had to because they had good hockey-playing dads. It just turned out that way. But we're certainly glad they're a part of our organization.
