Sekac had a solid preseason debut Tuesday, scoring a goal in a 3-2 win against the Boston Bruins.
"He does a lot of good things out there," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien told the team's website. "He's excellent with the puck. He works extremely hard and he's in terrific shape. We really like the way he competes. There are a lot of good things that really stand out about his play. We're starting a new stage of training camp with these preseason games. We'll give him every opportunity to prove himself."
