Sutter combines Cup with Ice Bucket Challenge

Los Angeles Kings coach Darryl Sutter combined his day with the Stanley Cup with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at his family's farm in Alberta this weekend.

Sutter held the most iconic trophy in sports while ice water was poured on him from the barn above.

Sutter, who won his second Cup as coach of the Kings in three seasons, posed for a family photo with his mother and brothers, a total of eight Stanley Cup wins.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was part of Ryan Van Asten's day with the Cup, also in Alberta. The Kings strength and conditioning coach used the trophy to pour water onto his friend Kyle, who has ALS.

The Cup spent the first part of this Alberta trip with Kings defenseman Jeff Schultz, who made several stops with it: Ronald McDonald House, and the Calgary police and fire departments.

Quote of the Day

We think that Randy is a very good coach. Our players think that Randy is a very good coach. We think that he's going to get the most out of this group. With the addition of the two assistants, a bit of a different dynamic, we're very comfortable that this is a quality coaching staff that's going to maximize the potential of this team.
