Kings' Murray enjoys quiet day with Stanley Cup

The Stanley Cup made a visit to the Maritimes on Monday as development consultant Glen Murray got his day with the trophy in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

It was a low-key day for Murray, who celebrated the arrival of the Cup with a gathering at his home.

"We had a nice, quiet day back at the cottage," Murray said in a video published on SouthShoreNow.ca. "A few people, some family and friends. Sit and stare at it."

The only public appearance for the Cup was at the Best Western Plus Hotel and Convention Centre in Bridgewater, where fans were able to take pictures with it.

"A lot of hockey fans, a lot of people know what the Cup is," Murray said. "It's great. It's awesome. ... I'm lucky to bring it here today."

Quote of the Day

I remember the first time at Wrigley Field all of us had the long johns, the turtlenecks and the extra equipment because we were afraid of being cold. Halfway through the first period everybody's ripping everything off and we just ended up wearing what we would normally wear for a game at the United Center.
