Busy holiday weekend for Stanley Cup

Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli spent his day with the Stanley Cup on Wednesday in Ontario.

It included a stop where the Cup was filled with scoops of ice cream.

This weekend, captain Dustin Brown will take the Cup back to Ithaca, N.Y., on Saturday. WBNG-TV reports the trophy will be at Cass Park rink from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Proceeds will go to various Ithaca charities.

Sunday, goaltender Jonathan Quick will have the Cup in his hometown of Hamden, Conn., the New Haven Register reports.

The trophy will be at Louis Astorino Ice Arena from noon to 2 p.m. for a fundraiser for the children of Jason Pagni, a friend and youth coach of Quick’s who died in a car accident this year.

Quote of the Day
