NEW YORK -- Hello everyone from Madison Square Garden, where I'm at for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.
I got into town yesterday afternoon. It's my first time in New York. As soon as we got here we had a bunch of free time so me and Michael Dal Colle went and walked around downtown. I was blown away by the buildings and the amount of people that were outside. Definitely really cool to see.
This morning we got up at 8 a.m., grabbed some breakfast and headed over to the rink. As soon as we got here we sat in the stands and watched the morning skates for a little bit, then we went up and went with Don Cherry and did the prospect interview, the one that he does with the top prospects every year. That was really cool. I used to watch those growing up all the time and I loved watching them. So being a part of that was really cool.
We also got to go into both teams' dressing rooms. I got a chance to meet a bunch of the players, like Martin St. Louis, Drew Doughty, Brad Richards, Rick Nash, Anze Kopitar. Meeting those guys, it's pretty cool because those are guys I idolized growing up, so it was definitely cool to talk to them.
The highlight though had to be meeting St. Louis just because he's a guy that I love to watch. I loved watching him in Tampa. They were all really nice guys but he probably stood out to me.
After all the morning stuff we had some lunch and went back to the hotel, grabbed a nap and then came back to the rink for some more media availability.
We have tickets to the game tonight, so that'll be pretty cool. I've never been to a Stanley Cup Playoff game. It's going to be unreal. I'm so excited, especially here in New York, at Madison Square Garden. It couldn't get much better than this.
Thanks for reading along.
