MTL @ BOS - 1:04 of the Second Period

At 1:04 of the second period in the Montreal Canadiens/Boston Bruins game, video review supported the referee's call on the ice that the Dougie Hamilton's shot deflected off Reilly Smith's skate and into the Montreal net in a legal fashion. According to Rule 49.2 "A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player's skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal." Good goal Boston.

Quote of the Day

It's pretty crazy, but believe me when I say we didn't draft these players with the mindset we had to because they had good hockey-playing dads. It just turned out that way. But we're certainly glad they're a part of our organization.

— Arizona Coyotes director of amateur scouting Tim Bernhardt regarding the coincidence that six of the organization's top prospects are sons of former NHL players
