Ducks recall goalie Gibson from AHL

The Anaheim Ducks recalled goaltender John Gibson from Norfolk of the American Hockey League on Friday.

Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen was injured in the third period of Game 3 of the Western Conference Second Round on Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Jonas Hiller completed the Ducks' 3-2 win that pulled them within 2-1 in the best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series.

Game 4 is Saturday at Staples Center (9:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, RDS, TSN).

Gibson made his NHL debut April 7 and played three regular-season games for the Ducks. The 20-year-old was 3-0-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and .954 save percentage.

Quote of the Day

I remember the first time at Wrigley Field all of us had the long johns, the turtlenecks and the extra equipment because we were afraid of being cold. Halfway through the first period everybody's ripping everything off and we just ended up wearing what we would normally wear for a game at the United Center.
