Wild's Bryzgalov hoping to bounce back in Game 2

CHICAGO -- Minnesota Wild goalie Ilya Bryzgalov is looking forward to a little redemption against the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2 of their Western Conference Second Round series Sunday at United Center (3 p.m. ET; NBC, RDS, TSN).

The Blackhawks scored four goals on 21 shots, including three goals on eight shots in the final two periods, in a 5-2 win in Game 1 on Friday. Bryzgalov said he and the Wild can bounce back in Game 2.

"My confidence is pretty good. All I can do is go on the ice and give the team what I've got and hope it's enough to win the game," Bryzgalov said. "On the one side I'm feeling good, on the other one not very good. I'm not happy with the results [Friday], what we got when I played. Obviously I want to change it."

Bryzgalov is 1-3-1 with a 4.16 goals-against average and .821 save percentage in four games in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He openly acknowledged his postseason statistics have faltered of late.

"My numbers drop a couple years; before there was pretty good numbers," he said. "I don't' know what's the reason. Maybe players much better right now."

Prior to joining the Wild, the 33-year-old had a 2.99 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 38 playoff games for the Anaheim Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes and Philadelphia Flyers.

Bryzgalov knows the games are tighter and become more difficult in the playoffs. He also knows a goalie needs to possess a short memory and is only as good as his last outing.

"[Friday] is in the past, what can you do?" he said "You can't bring this game back and bring those goals back. You've got to leave it behind and step on the ice [Sunday] and play as hard as you can."

Wild coach Mike Yeo gave his goalie a vote of confidence during his press conference Saturday.

"I thought he played pretty well and I expect him to play well [Sunday]," Yeo said. "When I looked at the video of that game and that area, I'm not too sure what he could have done on the goals that went in. He's excited for the game and putting pressure on himself. I want everyone to remember that [Game 1] and feel that game but come out with a little more this time around."
