'Marcarena' a big hit after Canadiens' OT win

TAMPA -- The most popular video highlight of the Montreal Canadiens 5-4 overtime win in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference First Round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning is not the Dale Weise goal that decided it.

It is not a goal at all, nor a save, nor a big hit.

The most popular video documentation of that game, based on how viral it went on social media following the game Wednesday night, would have to be Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin celebrating his team's victory.

The CBC broadcast showed a clip of Bergevin watching the final moments in a suite with the rest of the Canadiens' management team. When Weise scored at 18:08 of overtime, Bergevin reacted by doing a sort of dance, jumping up and down and waving his hands in the air before celebrating with his colleagues.

The move was quickly dubbed the "Marcarena" on Twitter.

Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was asked Thursday if he had seen it and couldn't deny he was guilty, but got rather uncomfortable commenting any further on it considering who the star of the video was.

"I'm just going to say I've seen it; I've seen different versions of it," Subban said after getting a good laugh out of the question. "I'm not going to say he was teased about it, but he might have been, I don't know."

Subban was prodded a bit further on what that teasing of Bergevin might have entailed, and Subban quickly attempted to change the direction of the conversation.

"He's the GM. I'm not going to be the one to say," Subban said. "Something tells me I should just keep my mouth closed. If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them."

Smart man.
