Winter Classic commentary
Question: What could be better than popular NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes returning to the fold as a regular analyst on NHL Net's "On the Fly" and at all major League-wide events? Answer: Setting up Weekes to blog four times a week–both video and text–for NHL.com. Look for Kevin's insightful and always enthusiastic brand of hockey blogging beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4.

In a special sneak peak of "Weekes on the Web," here is Kevin's video view on Monday's 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic announcement that the game will be Jan. 2 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Kevin's take on the Winter Classic:

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
