Canadiens eager to try snapping Bruins' win streak

BOSTON -- You can count Montreal Canadiens forward Dale Weise among those excited that the Boston Bruins have won 12 in a row.

The Canadiens will face the Bruins at TD Garden on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS).

"We were checking the score the other night [Saturday] against Phoenix, and Phoenix was up going into the third period and we were kind of hoping Boston would come back and win so we would get the chance to knock them off," Weise said after the morning skate Monday.

Goaltender Peter Budaj will start for the Canadiens. Montreal coach Michel Therrien said with the Canadiens scheduled to play Tuesday at home against the Buffalo Sabres he wanted to give Carey Price one of the games off.

The Bruins haven't lost since March 1. They hadn't trailed in a game for more than 400 minutes before Saturday against the Coyotes. Still, coach Claude Julien is trying to seem unimpressed.

"Those are things that next year nobody will remember," Julien said. "We take care of other things than the streak. Right now it's about our game, it's about day-to-day, so that's not an issue."
