Vatanen has 14 points and a plus-2 rating in 41 games with the Ducks this season. Despite spending time in the AHL and being a healthy scratch for a number of games, Vatanen is tied with Cam Fowler for the Anaheim lead in goals among defensemen with six.
Vatanen, 22, last played for Anaheim on Feb. 5. He played for Finland in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, and he led all defenseman in the tournament with five assists for the bronze-medal winners.
The Ducks drafted Vatanen in the fourth round (No. 106) at the 2009 NHL Draft. He has played 49 career NHL games, in which he has 16 points, a plus-5 rating and 20 penalty minutes.
