Horton talks Blue Jackets' playoff quest on NHL Live

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton joined NHL Live to discuss the team's fight for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Horton won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011 and believes the Blue Jackets have what it takes to win.

"We know what to do, we know how to do it and I think that's what's exciting," Horton said.

"Everyone wants to get into the playoffs and wants to experience that. I think I can help with what I went through in Boston. It's the time of the year you want to play hockey and it's the most fun. I think we're all chomping at the bit to get there."

Horton also shared his thoughts on former Bruins teammate Rich Peverley. The Dallas Stars forward collapsed on the bench in the first period of a game Monday against Horton's Blue Jackets.

"It's one of those things where you don't think will ever happen," Horton said. "We were all surprised and shocked. When we found out what was happening, we just wanted to make sure he was going to be OK. Luckily, now he is. For sure it was a tough night."
