Slovenia's Kovacevic faces IIHF disciplinary hearing

Slovenia defenseman Sabahudin Kovacevic faces a disciplinary hearing with the International Ice Hockey Federation on Sunday morning.

The hearing, presided over by the IIHF disciplinary committee, concerns a hit delivered by Kovacevic to Slovakia's Tomas Kopecky during the Group A game between the teams Saturday at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.

Kopecky, who plays for the Florida Panthers in the NHL, was injured on the play and did not return to the game.

Slovenia won the game 3-1, its first Olympic victory.

Slovenia plays the United States in the final day of pool play Sunday. Slovakia plays Russia on Sunday.

The IIHF committee consists of Kay Whitmore, Stephane Quintal, Franz Reindl and Valeri Kamensky.
