Muller wants to see Hurricanes' offense get aggressive

RALEIGH, N.C. -- When the Carolina Hurricanes face the Florida Panthers on Friday, they will look for a little more grit from the power play and a little less emphasis on style points.

The Hurricanes have fallen to 28th in the NHL with a 14.1-percent success rate on the man-advantage. They have three power-play goals in their past nine games.

"We've got to attack the net more," coach Kirk Muller said. "We're too much of a perimeter power play, looking for the nice plays and it just doesn't happen. [We need to be] more direct, have more urgency."

The Panthers also will try to shake the man-advantage blues. They enter the weekend 30th in the League at 9.1 percent. Florida comes into the game following a 3-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.

"It's an important game for us," Muller said. "We're fresh, we're at home. We should take advantage of that [by] jumping on an opponent when they've played the night before. We want to get off to a good start. Play simple, play hard and have a lot of structure in our game."

The Panthers did not have a morning skate Friday.

Here are the probable lineups for the Panthers and Hurricanes:
