The Anaheim Ducks recalled defenseman Sami Vatanen from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League on Monday and he's expected to be in the lineup, paired with veteran Bryan Allen, for the Ducks' game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Honda Center.
Vatanen has six goals and 14 points in 39 NHL games.
Coming out of the lineup will be Luca Sbisa and Mark Fistric, the latter of whom sustained a lower-body injury Saturday against the Dallas Stars and was placed on injured reserve.
Frederik Andersen, who has won 14 of his first 16 NHL decisions, will get the start in goal.
He'll be opposed by the Blue Jackets' Sergei Bobrovsky, who has won his past two starts and nine of 11 since returning from injury.
Blue Jackets defenseman James Wisniewski will be a game-time decision. He's nursing a lower-body injury sustained when he blocked a shot late in the game Saturday against the Florida Panthers. Tim Erixon was called up prior to the road trip, and either he or Cody Goloubef could Wisniewski's place if he can't go.
Forward Marian Gaborik, out with a broken collarbone, joined the Blue Jackets for part of their skate, wearing a red no-contact jersey.
