Lightning, Preds set for Round 2
Warmups are under way here for Game 2 between Tampa Bay and Nashville at the Florida Rookie Tournament.

The starting goalies tonight are Chet Pickard for the Predators (2008, No. 18) and Pat Nagle for the Lightning. Nagle, who played his college hockey at Ferris State, was undrafted but signed a two-year entry level contract with Tampa Bay.
Behind the bench for the Lightning will be Jon Cooper, coach of AHL Norfolk. Nashville will be coached by new Milwaukee coach Kirk Muller. In a bit of an oddity, both AHL affiliates share a common nickname, the Admirals.

Quote of the Day

It's cool when you think about how many great American players have played the game and the two players that were at that 18-game point streak and what they've done in their careers. It's pretty cool right now, but it was kind of overshadowed by the loss.
