OSHAWA, Ontario -- Blackhawks fans in attendance at Saturday night's game got their first look at Chicago's second Toews.
In a move announced on Friday, David Toews, the 21-year-old younger brother of Chicago captain Jonathan Toews, was obtained by the Blackhawks from the New York Islanders for future considerations. It was an exciting night for David, as he donned the Blackhawks' infamous sweater for the first time.
"It was great," Toews said. "I've been looking forward to this for a couple of days since I got the call and I had to be flown out here. It was exciting to get out there on the ice -- it was my first game in a few months. It was obviously not the result we wanted, but I think we had a lot of positives tonight and I'll take it into tomorrow."
