Blues recall Allen from AHL

The St. Louis Blues on Thursday recalled goaltender Jake Allen from their American Hockey League team, the Chicago Wolves.

Allen is third in the AHL with a 2.17 goals-against average. In 23 games he's 14-7-2 with a .922 save percentage and two shutouts.

The 23-year-old made his NHL debut last season, going 9-4-1 in 15 games, with a 2.46 GAA and .905 save percentage. He led all NHL rookies in wins, GAA and save percentage.

Quote of the Day

You get the right the whistles at the right times, you can leave him out there. He's a beast when it comes to being on the ice. I thought [Saturday] he was a big man. That first period, he did that lateral cut and it was like three bowling pins bounced off him. There's not too many guys that can do that.
