Coyotes defenseman Michalek out indefinitely

The Phoenix Coyotes have lost defenseman Zbynek Michalek indefinitely with a lower-body injury he sustained in the game Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens.

According to the Coyotes, Michalek has left the team to see team medical staff for further evaluation.

In 24 games Michalek has four assists and a plus-10 rating that is tops among Phoenix defensemen. He missed nine games earlier this season with a lower-body injury.

The Coyotes have recalled defenseman Rostislav Klesla from Portland of the American Hockey League. Klesla has played in 15 games with Phoenix this season, scoring one goal with two assists.

Quote of the Day

Jamie improves every game and every year. I've only been with him for two years, but as a player and as a person it seems like every week he's getting stronger and better, and becoming a better leader and better captain. He wants the team to be so successful that he's making himself better as a player.
