Lightning's Brewer scratched with lower-body injury

COLUMBUS -- Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Eric Brewer is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Brewer, who did participate in the team's morning skate, leads all Tampa Bay defensemen with a plus-5 rating. He had played in all 26 games and had five assists.

Brewer missed an opportunity to face the team he has scored the most points against in his 15-year career. He has 17 points, including five goals, against the Blue Jackets.

Keith Aulie replaced Brewer in the lineup.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
