Kings put Carter, Kopitar on same line

TAMPA -- The Los Angeles Kings are in the midst of a three-game win streak, but that hasn't stopped coach Darryl Sutter from doing a little line shuffling.

When the Kings take the ice Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, look for Mike Richards to play between Justin Williams and Dustin Brown, while Jeff Carter will shift to the wing on a line with center Anze Kopitar and Dwight King. Daniel Carcillo was moved down to the fourth line.

Sutter downplayed the change as "insignificant," pointing out that his top four skaters get significant ice time together on power plays.

"They play a lot together as it is," Sutter said. "Their minutes are different than everyone else."

Here is the line the Kings likely will use Tuesday:

Dustin Brown - Mike Richards - Justin Williams

Dwight King - Anze Kopitar - Jeff Carter

Kyle Clifford - Trevor Lewis - Matt Frattin

Daniel Carcillo - Jarret Stoll - Jordan Nolan

Alec Martinez - Matt Greene

Slava Voynov - Willie Mitchell

Robyn Regehr - Drew Doughty

Jonathan Quick

Ben Scrivens

Scratched: Keaton Ellerby, Jake Muzzin, Colin Fraser

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
