Ducks recall Smith-Pelly from Norfolk

The Anaheim Ducks recalled right wing Devante Smith-Pelly from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Smith-Pelly, 21, appeared in four games for Norfolk this season and scored two goals with a plus-2 rating. He played in six preseason games for the Ducks and had three points with eight penalty minutes.

Spending most of last season in Norfolk, he had 32 points with 65 penalty minutes in 65 games.

Smith-Pelly was the Ducks' second-round pick (No. 42) in the 2010 NHL Draft. He debuted with Anaheim in 2011-12 and had 13 points with 16 penalty minutes in 49 games.

Quote of the Day

Well, for me this one's concerning, the way we performed. Because three games in, playing a desperate team on the road, I was expecting something else than this. Right now, I'm just disappointed. The other games, I thought we did some things that you can build off your game. There wasn't a lot accomplished in tonight's game.
