What a start
The home fans are certainly getting what they came for.

Team Staal, captained by Eric Staal and populated with all the Carolina players in the All-Star Game -- Staal, goalie Cam Ward and Jeff Skinner -- is dominating early. Team Staal holds a 4-0 lead just eight minutes into the contest. Alex Ovechkin, Paul Stastny, Patrik Elias and Claude Giroux have the goals.

Ward is also dishing dirt on teammate Skinner, reveling that the 18-year-old rookie -- who looks like pop star Justin Bieber -- has been asked to several proms in the area.

The Carolina goalie is also giving the announcers the gears becuase they just mentioned that he hasn't allowed a goal yet, usually seen as a bad show of form by superstitious goalies.
Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
