Flyers tinker with opening-night lineup

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers are set to begin their 2013-14 season against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night, and there appear to be some changes from what was seen during the preseason.

Among the changes based on pre-game warmups are a new-look top line that features Brayden Schenn replacing Jakub Voracek at right wing alongside center Claude Giroux and left wing Scott Hartnell.

On the second line, center Vincent Lecavalier will make his Flyers debut with Matt Read on the left and Wayne Simmonds on the right.

Here is how the rest of Philadelphia’s lineup will look against the Maple Leafs:

Scott Hartnell - Claude Giroux - Brayden Schenn

Matt Read - Vincent Lecavalier - Wayne Simmonds

Maxime Talbot - Sean Couturier - Jakub Voracek

Jay Rosehill - Adam Hall - Zac Rinaldo

Braydon Coburn- Kimmo Timonen

Luke Schenn - Mark Streit

Nicklas Grossmann - Andrej Meszaros

Steve Mason

Ray Emery

Scratched: Scott Laughton, Erik Gustafsson, Hal Gill

Quote of the Day

It's a little different but it feels amazing. A new chapter in my life and I'm excited. It's been amazing. Better than I expected. The weather is great, the place is just amazing. I can't say enough good things about it. I'm glad to get the season going.
