Canucks trim camp roster by three

The Vancouver Canucks on Friday trimmed their training-camp roster by three players.

Defenseman Frank Corrado and center Zach Hamill were sent to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Utica Comets.

Brendan Gaunce, the team's 2012 first-round pick (No. 26) was returned to his junior team, the Bellevile Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League.

Quote of the Day

He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
