Rangers assign nine players to AHL

The New York Rangers announced on Wednesday that they have assigned nine players to Hartford of the American Hockey League.

Sent down were forwards Micheal Haley, Danny Kristo, Michael Kantor and Andrew Yogan, along with defensemen Danny Syvret, Dylan McIlrath, Tommy Hughes and Aaron Johnson. Goaltender Cam Talbot was also trimmed from the Rangers roster.

The move leaves the Rangers with 30 active players; 19 forwards, nine defensemen and two goalies.

Quote of the Day

We think that Randy is a very good coach. Our players think that Randy is a very good coach. We think that he's going to get the most out of this group. With the addition of the two assistants, a bit of a different dynamic, we're very comfortable that this is a quality coaching staff that's going to maximize the potential of this team.
