"I'm probably not going to play [Thursday] only because I didn't have a practice with my teammates," said Jagr, who has skated on his own and with a group of Devils on Tuesday who weren't playing in that evening's game in Philadelphia.
Jagr, who left the Devils' first practice Sept. 12 with a lower-body injury, said the final decision belongs to the New Jersey coaching staff, but that he wouldn't be concerned about not getting into a preseason game and feels practices will be enough to get him up to speed.
The Devils open the regular season Oct. 3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
