Capitals sign 2012 draft pick Carrick

The Washington Capitals on Monday signed defenseman Connor Carrick to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Carrick, a 2012 fifth-round pick (No. 137) had 12 goals and 32 assists in 68 games with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League last season. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder also had 18 points in 15 OHL playoff games.
