Blackhawks trim camp roster to 36

The Chicago Blackhawks on Monday made moves that reduced their training camp roster to 36 players.

Forwards Mark McNeill, Garret Ross and Alex Broadhurst, defensemen Dylan Olsen, Klas Dahlbeck and Adam Clendening, and goaltender Kent Simpson were assigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

In addition, forward Teuvo Teravainen was sent to Jokerit of SM-liiga in Finland and forward Ryan Hartman was assigned to the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Blackhawks also released defenseman Viktor Svedberg from camp.

Quote of the Day

We've got a team filled with captains, that's what I think. With these first two games we got in, we're really dominating and moving the puck really fast, and it's worked out really good.
